Alexandria Day Tour From Cairo

After breakfast you driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo to start your drive to alexandria ( About 3 to 4  HRS drive with a stop in the way ), once you arrive Alexandria you will meet your tour guide to start your day tour to 

• visit the catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa ( mound of shards ) which is a 26 AD burial site , discovered in 1900 when a donkey fell into one of the tombs, the Catacombs which is the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut into the rock.

• then continue to visit Pompey's Pillar raised in 300 AD in honor of the Emperor Diocletian who saved the city from famine prior to his massive Christian persecution.

• visit the Alexandria Bibliotheca, which was reborn in October 2002 consider to be a major cultural and Library centre . Note : the library has many museums inside with extra ticket if you would like to visit )

• Then you will break for lunch in a sea view restaurant .

• After lunch visit the Qaitbay Fortress which was built on the site of the ancient pharos lighthouse of Alexandria considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

• After enjoying this interesting visit you will be driven back in comfort and safety to the hotel in Cairo.
